Introduction 

Telescopes are instruments for astronomers to look very far objects. The first telescopes ever to be made were used by sea merchants and the military. This astronomical instrument is very useful to astronomers to study stars, and search for phenomenon in the enormous universe. You need a dark, night sky to see the stars and spot constellations.

There are two types of telescopes, reflecting and refracting telescopes. 

Refracting Telescopes

Telescopes refract or bend light and that light is what you will see. However, it is said that the thicker it is the more powerful, and thick lenses means it will be heavy. It does the same job as eyeglasses lenses. The lenses in glasses correct your vision by bending light and you can see distant things. That is exactly the same thing that the lenses are doing inside of that telescope. This type of telescope is the earliest type of optical telescope. The first record of using a refracting telescope is in the Netherlands at 1608.

You might have to consider some flaws about this telescope. This telescope is unable to focus all the colors to the same point. This is called chromatic aberration (CA). This telescope has another problem too, and it is called spherical aberration which is a type of aberration in optical systems (lenses) which is in spherical surfaces. 

You may ponder what is aberration. In optical or optics, aberration is a characteristic of optical systems (like lenses) that causes light to spread out to a region or a particular part of space whether to be focused at somewhat point.

Reflecting Telescopes

Reflecting telescopes use mirrors to reflect the light and that light is what you will see. The mirror is lighter than the lenses and much lighter than the refracting light telescopes. It has more advantages than refracting telescopes. This telescope uses single or a combination of mirrors to see the image, which is unlike the refracting telescope. Although it has some technical issues, too.

The primary curved mirror is this telescope's foundation to do the telescope's job. The optical error is that the important thing to the telescope to the image that the distance is infinity, view in different wavelengths of light. Because of this there must be some compromises on the structure design that builder has to make. An error this telescope has an aberration where the point source (stars) has radial smudges. Optics
As an overview of optics, it is a study of light properties and its behavior. That includes its interaction to/with matter and the structure of its instruments in which that uses or to detect it.

In a deeper context, it's accounted for class electromagnetic description of light. Its ways of light can be used to longer/extend human vision and other things. Its study can be used for many purposes in all. The history is used to witness characteristics of light and light behaviors. It has become an interest to human beings due to its somewhat difficult nature to it.

There are two branches of Optics:
*Physical Optics 
*Psychological Optics

In physical optics, it is steeply focused on nature, and the properties and behaviors of light. Which has applied physics, which includes formulas. It takes observations to observe the characteristics of light. 

In psychological optics, is unlike physical optics, it passes over the role of light in vision. Primary observations as the power of the brain and the eye being tested.
